Cracker (AMERICANA/INSURGENT COUNTRY)

Cracker has been described as a lot of things over the years: alt-rock, Americana, insurgent-country, and have even had the terms punk and classic-rock thrown at them. But more than anything Cracker are survivors. Cofounders Lowery and Hickman have been at it for almost a quarter of a century – amassing ten studio albums, multiple gold records, thousands of live performances, hit songs that are still in current radio rotation around the globe (“Low,” “Euro-Trash Girl,” “Get Off This” and “Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out With Me” to name just a few), and a worldwide fan base – that despite the major sea-changes within the music industry – continues to grow each year.

Dropin Pickup (ROCK)

Experience, passion, and energy embody Tampa-based rock band Dropin Pickup.  Rising from the ashes of previous projects, the newly solidified lineup has been creating smooth and soulful anthems after the celebrated release of their debut album, A Settling of Sorts.  While maintaining their hunger to move themselves and their audience with sonic harmony and wild performances, the band continues to impress fans old and new.

Though the lead singer, Mike Farrell, hails from Chicago, he identifies as a citizen of the world.  Seemingly unachievable is the high, controlled range he has cultivated through his years of performance.  He is the main lyricist of the band, for which he has received high praise.

Nevada-born, Tampa-bred Denny Umphreys loves to bang his drums.  Though he plays the skins for the band, he is also a prolific riff writer and helps to generate newer ideas for the band to work.  He also plays a massive role in the managerial aspect of the vocation.

After receiving an honorable discharge from the US Army, Chase Wilder Collins, or ChaseOnBass, relocated to Tampa to pursue several different musical opportunities.  His bass work locks down the band’s tunes with a backbone that mirrors his wide array of influences – from his hometown of Dallas, Texas to Asia. Santino Rumore, the only Tampa born member, slays the guitar.  The bluesy-rock background of the six-stringer has pushed the newer songs into uncharted territory.  Knowledgeable in nearly all aspects of music arrangement and equipment, Tino runs a family-owned music store in Tampa called Paragon Music. The largest member of the band, Nick Ewing, plays the fiddle.  His violin technique and composition have painted the band off-white and allowed growth into different aural directions. Moreover, he works pretty well in the kitchen.
