To celebrate the beautiful Florida fall weather, WMNF will present a day of eclectic music and fun under the oaks at Skippers Smokehouse. The lineup includes:

Have Gun, Will Travel   (AMERICANA/FOLK/INDIE/ROCK)

For eight years HGWT has been among the most played bands on WMNF.   They have played memorable sets at many WMNF festivals, including Tropical Heatwave, WMNF Birthday Bash and Little Manatee Jam.  We are happy they can headline this new WMNF fall event.  HGWT has five terrific albums of Americana, folk-rock. and indie-rock, with songwriter/lead vocalist Matt Burke writing lyrics drawing on themes of history to give the songs unique color.

Christie Lenée Project (FOLK/FUNK/POP/ROCK)

Christie Lenée has been capturing a wide audience across the US, touring frequently and delivering vibrant energy at every show. Her unique guitar work is often compared to visionaries like Michael Hedges, Bela Fleck, Andy McKee, and John Mayer- fusing folky/funky playfulness with pop/rock inspired songs and virtuosic guitar compositions.

Big Shoals (ROCK/AMERICANA)

Hailing from the deep South in Gainesville, Florida, Big Shoals has staked their claim as a serious band, playing their own mixture of rock/americana since 2012.  With thought provoking songs and melodies that stick in your head for days, they’re an act that you surely don’t want to miss. A Gainesville band that should be recognized as one of the best roots rock bands in the country.  Lance Howell is an outstanding songwriter, guitarist and vocalist and leads a strong band.

SUSTO (FOLK/AMERICANA/ROCK)

SUSTO’s music has been given many labels—Americana, alt-country, southern folk, indie rock, even gospel—and though none of these descriptions are inaccurate, they only provide part of the picture. Bandleader and songsmith Justin Osborne’s lyrics bring the full picture into view. He weaves catchy hooks into honest storytelling, utilizing gothic imagery, wry humor, and social commentary to convey his confessional tales. His gravelly, pitch-perfect voice is the ideal vehicle to bring these heartfelt expressions to the listener and the sincerity he exudes while performing is palpable. Pair that with perfectly nuanced folk-rock instrumentation, and SUSTO remains in a genre all its own.

Appleseed Collective  (FOLK/SWING/GYPSY)

The Appleseed Collective is poised to become the new sound of string music. Riding the wave of the bluegrass revival beyond newgrass and into a strange new genre-bending territory, they explore the full range of dark and light, old and new, composition and improvisation in a deeply theatrical stage show that transports audiences through time.

Kettle of Fish  (BLUES/SOUL/ROCK)

Kettle of Fish plays festiblues, the kind of festival music that features blues, soul and funk with the energy of rock n roll. They make old songs new again, and their originals sound like classics.
