Reverend Barry & Funktastic Soul featuring The Hellacious Horns is Sarasota’s Premier Funk & Soul Party Band. If you’re looking for a band who has the goods to keep the audience moving, grooving, bumping, grinding and shaking their moneymakers ALL night long, you have found THE band to make it happen!
We ONLY play the best funk and soul dance party music from the 60′s, 70′s and 80′s. Everyone knows the best soul & funk acts of all time – James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, The Jackson 5, etc. – ALWAYS had live horn sections. Yet every other band who attempts to cover these songs uses keyboards to play the horn parts. Not Funktastic Soul. You audience will LOVE grooving all night long with a funk & soul band with REAL horns – hearing and seeing the horns belt out those horn parts the way they were on the records. We are one of the few bands in the entire state of Florida with a 3-piece horn section, comprised of 3 of the hottest horn players on this side of the state.
