Future Vintage (ELECTRO FUNK/NEO-SOUL/ELECTRONIC DANCE)
Future Vintage is bringing a whole new sound to the Southeastern US. Their name is synonymous with their sonic vision – presenting original music that bridges the gap between all great Funk music past, present and future. The music is rooted in the classic Funk of the 70’s and early 80’s with further influence from the Hip Hop and Neo-Soul of the 90’s and 2000’s and finally with an ear to what’s happening in Electronic Dance Music today.
A Future Vintage live set can run the gamut of Funk styles from any of these decades. Tight, syncopated grooves, classic Hip Hop beats, Electro Funk, Afro-Latin and more traditional style Funk all mix into one dance-inducing concoction.
In addition to the standard format of the Keys/Bass/Drums trio Future Vintage brings modern technology to the fold by melding programmed drums and samples, drum machines and loops onto their live instrumentation, creating layer after layer of funky sound.
Future Vintage is led by Keyboardist/Composer Matt Giancola and features Trevor McDannel on Bass and Eric Layana on Acoustic and Electric Drums. Together they share years of combined experience cutting their teeth in various Funk outfits throughout the US. The trio released their debut full-length album ‘Doin It Right’ in December 2015 which is the definitive statement of the sound the band has been working to develop over their first few years together. Be on the lookout for Future Vintage in clubs and at festivals throughout Florida and beyond in 2016.
