$15 – $20
After a forced two-year hiatus, Have Gun, Will Travel return to Skipper’s Smokehouse with their 2nd Annual (kind of) END OF THE WORLD Music Festival! Curated by the band, the line-up is stacked with incredibly talented musicians, from long-time friends to newer artists just getting their careers off the ground. Look forward to an evening of great music by these amazing bands/artists, followed by a closing/headlining HGWT set that might include a surprise or two!
Artist Line-up:
Have Gun, Will Travel
Lauren Morrow
Lauris Vidal
Hymn for Her
Liam Bauman
Deb Ruby
Taylor Raynor
Lauren Morrow – After over a decade as the centerpiece of popular Americana band The Whiskey Gentry, Lauren Morrow moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a solo artist and grow her craft as a songwriter and performer. Within months, she released her first solo EP to widespread critical acclaim, launching her already budding career. Over the next year, Morrow filmed an episode for PBS’ Bluegrass Underground and toured the US playing festivals such as Pickathon and Bristol Rhythm & Roots. Morrow recently wrapped recording her first solo, full-length album at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studio. Set to release in 2022, Morrow’s new album showcases her flawless vocals and intricate songwriting, but also her willingness to take risks. Whether she’s singing an alternative/indie rock banger, a classic-country crooner, or a traditional lovesick ballad, there’s a unique impression she leaves that lingers and is unlike anything you’ve heard before.
Lauris Vidal – Having toured the US non-stop since 2006, honing his signature heavy roots music sound with a handful of different live line ups. These days you will find Lauris Vidal touring as a true one man band thrashing & howling wildly behind a junk heap of salvaged percussion where his feet beat a kick drum, snare drum, floor tom, hi hats and tambourine, his hands pluck homemade guitars, tenor banjo, ukulele and lap steels all while his signature “Tom Waits giving a hug to Paul Simon” vocal styling dances, pounces and howls over what has been called a tightly woven sonic fabric of heavy southern soul music.
Hymn for Her – Hymn for Her have been busy touring across the country and abroad, injecting juiced-up backwoods country blues with a dose of desert rock psychedelia that has been described as “Hell’s Angels meets the Amish,” and “Hillbillies with electronics opening Pandora’s Box.” Their wild-eyed mash-up of country, blues and punk led U.K. music critic Steve Bennett to call H4H’s sound “a riotous, rocking roadkill stew,” while others have referenced such diverse bands as Captain Beefheart, Primus, X, R.L. Burnside, JS Blues Explosion and the Ramones.
Liam Bauman – Liam Bauman’s music blends deeply introspective lyrics into ethereal dreamscapes, transporting listeners to a place of warmth and self-reflection. This is acoustic guitar-driven folk music at its core.
Deb Ruby – Singer-songwriter Deb Ruby blends elements of modern and vintage folk music with her earthy vocals, poetic lyrics, and the warmth of an acoustic guitar.
Taylor Raynor – Taylor Raynor is a Tampa based producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Raynor’s influences include Leonard Cohen, Conor Oberst, Nick Drake, and Sun Kil Moon.
