Koko Ray and The Keepers (ACOUSTIC/JAZZ/ROCK)

KoKo Ray And The Keepers are a spin off of Koko Ray And The Soul Providers, the mind child of Koko Ray Hansen. The band came together in 1999 after Koko Ray relocated to Florida. While constructing the band, Koko Ray landed guitarist, John Purcell as part of the original band. After many incarnations of personnel through the years, the band has grown to being a dynamic R&B based Rock and Roll band with a touch of Funk & Roll and a mix of original material. The current lineup consists of: KoKo Ray Hansen on flute, tenor and alto sax, clarinet, keys, harmonica, guitar and vocals, Gary Drouin on guitar, Doug Dodson on bass, Vincent Vingelli on drums, Einstein on percussion and Karma on vocals and percussion. Their 2005 release of Tropical Blue Moon and 2010 release of 5000 Lbs. of Love on Screaming Armadillo Records has had independent success and over the past fifteen years the band has performed countless venues in the Southwest Florida area. As an R&B based Rock & Roll band they are able to cross genres and accommodate a variety of entertainment needs, offering musical styles spanning from Island music to straight ahead Rock & Roll.
